“Catalonia will not be ransomed, rescued nor bailed out”

Some weeks ago some American journal or magazine laughed about the Spanish government not using the word bailout for a bailout … They wrote something like YOU SAY TOMATO, WE SAY BAILOUT or something.

So, now on CNN website one can read an article that this time is related to Catalonia. Let me tell anyone that THE.CAT calls bailout to this help from Spain. I have lost my trust to local government. I never thought they would end like the Spanish government: not calling bailout to what it is a bailout.

http://buzz.money.cnn.com/2012/07/24/catalonia-spain/?iid=HP_LN

Let me end by saying that in Castilian and Catalan we translate bailout for rescate or rescat. So, in fact, we use the translation of rescue.

So the translation of RANSOM, RESCUE and BAILOUT is RESCAT in Catalan and RESCATE in Castilian.

the problem now is that the Catalan government is acting like the Spanish government some weeks ago so instead of using the word bailout (rescat in Catalan) the use phrases like financial help, liquidity …

SPAIN REACHES AN AGREEMENT WITH FINLAND

When I think about Finland I have two oppose feelings. On the one hand I am happy that they put conditions to Spàin to lend money and on the other hand I am unhappy too!

It seems that Spain and Finland have reached an agreement so that Spain will put money in a Finland account as a warrant. Well, something like that …

I am afraidd that this is not good for Europe because then other countries who will be helping Spain will feel that Spain is giving more safety to the people from Finland.

So, as Finland seems to be one of the few countries that seems to bring mistrust into Spain returning the money back I think I should act accordingly and have mistrust in Finland.

Russian vodka o vodka from Russia? Vodka from Russia.

A trip to Helsinki or to St Petersburg? To St Petersburg.

Well, I am exaggerating but one thing is clear for me. If I must choose between a product made in Germany or Finland I would choose a German product.

In any case, maybe Finland is quite right in asking for warranties. But I imagine I am also right to choose German products instead of Finnish products. Their freedom is my freedom.

IS GERMANY BEING FORCED TO PAY THE EURO BILL?

I am quite disturbed as I see that the IMF is asking Germany to give up so that Spanish banks receive directly money from Europe. This is VER VERY good news for Spain but I think it is NOT GOOD news for Germany as it means that if something goes wrong the debt goes to Europe (and most to Germany) and not to Spain.

It is obvious that things should be done to save the eurozone and I agree that maybe the only solution is for Germany to accept that Germany also has to give up.

But I find that quite dangerous.

I am quite angry because I see Angela Merkel as a responsible politician. Strange as it may seem I like the idea of austerity as a value at least in my personal life. On the other hand I do not like the arrogance of Spanish president. Did you know that he shows off of being the one to put pressure in Brussels?

I find quite unfair that the international community wants to force Germany to pay the bill of irresponsible countries like Spain!

I know this can be the only solution for the survival of the euro but I am very very angry that Angela Merkel has to give up while Spain does not cut civil servant wages or raises VAT.

If Germany is made to pay the bill and at the same time Spain does not cut wages to its civil servants then this means that something quite wrong is happening here. It is very weird that a country with the greatest rate of unemployment in Europe finds quite normal not to cut wages to its civil servants. In Catalalonia the government cut wages to its civil servants.

It is grotesque to see the Spanish government to showing off while it is Germany the one to pay. They should be ashamed that we need a bailout! Instead they put as a victory that we receive the bailout.

If Spain wins EURO 2012 then each player receives about 300000 euros. I find that an scandal.

If Germany ends paying the bill I am sure that in the future there will be a bigger movement in Gemrany that asks a return to the Deutsche Mark.

If I was a German citizen I would be very upset. I feel outrageous that the international community is putting its pressure on Germany and not in Spain. It is unacceptable that in Catalonia we cut wages to civil servants while in Spain they do not cut wages to civil servants.

In Spain Catalonia has been for decades giving more money to Spain than what has been received! I do not want that for Germany! One of the reasons why some people in Catalonia want independence is because they feel that Spain only wants Catalonia to pay and to pay. I am afraid that something similar could happen in the eurozone with Germany! If Germans have to pay and to pay there will be a moment that Germans will say enough is enough and they will choose to leave the euro! To oblige Germany to pay now the bill to save the euro it could mean that in the future Germany wants to leave the euro!

I feel as if the Spanish government was blackmailing Angela Merkel with the help of the IMF.

Each time I see the Spanish president smiling and with so much confidence I have the feeling he is thinking “Why should I worry? Germany will pay the bill!”

Europe should force Spain to make changes. It is crazy that Europe gives money to a country where there are so many people without job and at the same time the government does not cut expenses by cutting wages in the civil servants who have a job for life!

THE.CAT is with Angela Merkel. I find her ways much better that the ones of the Spanish government. Germany should put the things clear to countries like  Spain and the rest of the world: Germany will only pay the bill if the rest of the countries behave in a responsible way!

Spain wasted a lot of money to build high speed trains lines. We have more lines than most of the countries of the world, except France and some other. How come that Germany has to pay the bill now for a country who spend the money in a wrong way?

People from Germany: BE CAREFUL. MAKE SPAIN BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BAILOUT RETURN. NOT EUROPE. DON’T TRUST THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT. TRUST THE.CAT!

GERMANY MUST BE COMPENSATED BY SPAIN

I am quite upset although at the same time a bit more relaxed. It seems that finally Germany has given up so that European funds will end buying Italian and Spanish bonds. This seems to be the decision that has been taken in Los Cabos, Mexico. I am happy about this as this may mean that the eurozone can breath a bit and Spain and Italy will be able to resist the attack of the markets.

But at the same time I am quite angry! I am angry because it is not fair that Germany has to pay in the end! This is not fair!

How can it be that Germany has to accept the pressure from outisde to save the euro while Spanish preident has not even accepted to cut wages or increase VAT as asked?

I don’t want a Europe where Germany kills the rest with austerity measures but I don’t want a Europe where Germany must pay for the wrong doings of the peripheral countries.

This is not a serious Europe! In Spain not all people love to receive money from  Germany. I am fed up to see these last decades how European funds have been used to buil uselees high speed train stations in the middle of nowhere.

Germany is to the eurozone what Catalonia is to Spain! That’s one of the reasons I dislike Germany paying the fiesta!

It is a shame! Not only Catalonia had been paying during decades to Spain. Now even Germany must pay to save Spain?

One thing is clear for me. Maybe Spain has won and Germany has lost in order to save the euro. Germany has had to put again the money. But one thing is for sure. My heart and my soul is with Germany and with Angela.

So I hope Germany puts all the conditions it can. It is not possible that Germany pays the bill as usual and Spanish president even shows off of being the one to have put the pressure.

Which image are we giving to the world? The responsible Germany has to give up to the peripheral countries that spent too much?

I understand that the only solution for the survival of the eurozone was a transfer from the wealthy north to the not so wealthy south but it is not possibe this is done while in Spain we do not do what asked!

As a citizen of Catalonia I cannot understand that Spain receives a whole bailout when it does not cut wages while we in Catalonia have done that!

Spain is trying to do in Europe the same that make sin Spain. Germans be aware of that! In Catalonia we have been paying during decades more to Spain that we have received! And now Spain does not cut civil servant wages while we do! This is crazy!

SPAIN AND ITALY TO BE BAILOUT

This is what can be read on telegraph.co.uk. If this is true I have a lot of reasons to be angry. Why should I know this in a foreign newspaper and in such a newspaper like The Telegraph?

This is quite crazy. A British newspaper talking about such a bailout when in the rest of the press you cannot read nothing of that sort.

If The Telegraph is right then I hope somebody explains how The Telegraph knows that and the rest no. And if it is fall maybe Spain and Italy should bring this newspaper to the court. Because this a very serious news.

Oh. my God. We just need that tomorrow Putin says that he may throw a nuclear bomb to the eurozone to complete the present with total disaster.

Anyway, I am going to sleep as always. I am fed up of been hijacked by fear. The more fear they want to put on us the less I should care.

SPANISH PRESIDENT SHOULD RESIGN IF SYRIZA WINS

Mariano Rajoy

Mariano Rajoy, the man who could be behind the victory of Syriza and the following collapse of the euro …

One of the reasons why Syriza wants to renegotiate the bailout is because the president of Spain is such a bad European politician that he showed the bailout of Spanish banks as if Europe was giving Spain a gift of free money.
Syriza says that if Spain got a good bailout then Greece should get a goodone too!
This won’t be happening if Mariano Rajoy had not acted in such a fool way. He should have said: “Spaniards. Today is a sad day for Spain but it could have been worse. Spain has needed to ask for a bailout for its banks. Fortunately the bailout is just for the banks for now but it is very necessary we continue working very hard so that we do not need a full bailout as Greece. As we still can get money from the international markets we have not needed a full bailout like unfortunately our friends from Greece needed but we will have to implement hard measures so that we do not end having a full bailout”

The president of Spain has mislead people in Greece! With his stupid way of acting some people may believe that Spain has been treated in a very special way when in fact it is just a question of days that Spain heads to a full bailout! Spain nneds to cut wages and increase VAT. If not we will end like Greece.

But Mariano Rajoy has acted as if Spain can survive without hard conditions applied! He is lying to the Spanish people! And unfortunately he has sent a wrong message to our friends in Greece!

So thanks to Mariano Rajoy irresponsible words it is possible that Syriza wins. If that happens it is obvious that Spain will be totally intervened in the following days!

So Mariano Rajoy will have harmed the European project of a single currency.

Oh my God I do not know what is worse. To be ruled harshly from the IMF and Brussels or be ruled by such an irresponsible president. Not to mention having a king that hunts an elephants and a head of judges that use to go on holidays on weekends with public money.

I do not know, but I have the feeling I would sleep better if German was the language spoken by the people who rule Spain. Quite sad to say, but it is the way I feel.

ENGLAND SHOULD HELP SPAIN

During centuries English and Spaniards have been at odds. England with its industrial revolution, the British Empire, Gibraltar and their powerful uncle Tom have left Spain quite behind.

Nonetheless a lot of people know Spain and a lot of people in Spain are in love with London and English music and series.

Today Spain is news, of course, too, in the UK.

It seems that people in the UK are worried about the eurocrisis affecting the UK too.

Few people in Spain would ask for help from Britain as history says that we are just rivals.

But in fact we are neighbours. Why the British come to Spain. Well, one reason is because Spain it is not so far from Britain. And the same happens with London. We go to London because it is not so far.

And why we were always in war in last centuries? Well, maybe because we were not so far away.

I imagine that people in England are very happy with the Greenwich meridian. You do not need to be near England to have the same meridian. And you can be near England and not have the same meridian. But in Spain we also have the same meridian. And it is nice when you croos it to think that we have it because just going north you have London.

I am sad that when I listen to British politicians they only talk about Europe to say they won’t pay any bailout, etc. I feel as if Britain treated the continent as the enemy. Unfortunately in Catalonia happens something similar with the rest of the state.

So, how could England help Spain?

Well, the first thing that England could do is to think what kind of future wants. To be a country that once was glorious and that now it just lives on its old glory or to be a country that joins other to be important again.

I understand that the British will be always afraid of joining too much Europe as in the past Germany threw bombs to London. I understand that people in Britain mistrust Europe. But the only thing I can say is that we should be very proud of current Germany. It is incredible that one country that once was ruled by Adolf Hitler is now ruled by Angela Merkel. It is incredible the change that Germany has made. The Germany of today has nothing to do with the Germany of yesterday. In my case, some of the sweetest and more wonderful people I have known where from Germany.

So, how England should help Spain. Well, there is one way very obvious: to respect the currency of Spain. It is quite terrible that London is attacking the euro all the time through the Financial Times. People in London should know that there is a newspaper from London that is carrying almost a war against mainland Europe.

Another way of helping Spain is to create an official programme  between British and Spanish government so that a lot of people from Britain can come to live in Spain. Let me explain:

Until now people from Britian came to Spain to retire or so. As this was done in an individual way it was sometimes not easy and full of problems. What I propose is an agreement between the countries so that British citizens can buy a house in Spain with the total backing of Britian and Spain. As you may know we have had a bubble of real estate in Spain so a lot of cheap flats are available! Why not using this to attract people from Europe?

As a way to return the help Spain could stop asking from Gibraltar. Let the people from Gibraltar decide. As long as I can enter Gibraltar as a tourist to see it I do not mind it being British at all! Maybe the fact that is British is good for tourism to this part of southern Europe.

George  Orwell wrote Homage to Catalonia. He fought for the Spanish republic. Now, fortunately we have democracies.

Maybe I am wrong but I have the feeling that if British had supported the euro this last years now the eurocrisis maybe would not be so hard. I cannot imagine the FT saying the things it says if London had the euro as its currency.

Do you imagine that in mainalnd Europe we had a very important newspaper and we were using it each day to attack the pound. Something similar seems to me doing the Finacial Times.

I think that if the only way for Britain to succeed is that mainland Europe collapses then it says very little about Britain.

So to end, I think that the UK instead of worrying so much about how the eurocrisis will affect the islands should just keep an eye of the Financial Times. The winds of the storm may come from the Continent but I have the feeling that  somebody in the UK (the FT and others) have done all possible for this storm to start. They are not bringing a lot of suffering to people in the eurozone. They also give a damm about the British I think because the possible collapse of the euro can only good for speculators. It is a disgrace that these horrible people are associated with London. Decent people in London should be ashamed of this people in the CIty.

LA ULTIMA FIESTA

In the last post I said that I agreed Mariano Rajoy going to Poland to see a football match but I forgot to say that in any case that I would have stayed in Spain. It is the way I am. I cannot go to see a football match knowing that tomorrow the markets will judge me!

I say that because I think that the football match of today could be the last fiesta, LA ÚLTIMA FIESTA, for Mariano Rajoy.

Although I understand he going to Poland for respect for Poland I think he should have thought more about respect for Spain! I am sure the Polish would understand that he was not in the match! After all the Prince will be there.

Imagine that tomorrow the premium risk increases again so that Spain has problems to sell its bonds in international markets. If this happens THE WORLD WON’T FORGET THAT SPANISH PRESIDENT WAS WATCHING A FOOTBALL MATCH TODAY!

What I mean is that this match could mean the end of Mariano Rajoy!

it is true that remaining in Spain could also send a message that we are too worried but I think it is better to show an image htat we are worried that we are not worried!

I hope Spanish CHULERIA does not bring Spain to a point of no return. I do not like the CHULERIA that Mariano Rajoy has shown today in his press conference. It has been pathetic when he has said that he did not receive any pressure. He even has laughed and has said that he was the one who had put pressure (WHAT A SHAME, MY GOD! I FEEL SO ASHAMED OF THIS PART OF HIS NARRATIVE!)

The truth is that if I can go to sleep each night and sleep a little bit is not because of him but because I know that Angela has an open eye to what he does.

So, I hope Mariano Rajoy enjoys himself a lot in Poland because this could be his last fiesta. If next week the yields of Spanish bonds soar he will pass to history as the most stupid president that Spain has ever had in centuries!

With him going to Poland he is sending the image as if we could relax after a lot of work. When in fact it is now that we have to start to work!!

In any case if Rajoy falls and Spain gets intervened I would be sad to be intervened but I prefer European intervention that being ruled by Spanish chulescos.

WILL EUROPE SELL LA PEDRERA OF GAUDI?

One of the most amazing buildings of the world, LA PEDRERA, could have a new future quite soon. Until some months ago this wonderful building of Antoni Gaudí was the building of a private savings bank. This building is till in the hands of CatalunyaCaixa but now CatalunyaCaixa is in the hands of the Spanish government.

But yesterday there has been a big change! Spain has asked a bailout for its banking system. Europe has accepted so that now it is Europe who will control the Spanish banks who need European money!

So, who knows, maybe the future of La Pedrera will be decided in Brussels!

The building of La Pedrera is priceless so maybe in Brussels they have a bit of common sense and they see that it is a littler weird that an intervened bank which needs money can have at the same time such an asset. So who knows, maybe Brussels sells La Pedrera and then La Pedrera becomes a luxurious hotel!

In any case I think that La Pedrera is a Unesco building.

“WE HAVE AVOIDED AN INTERVENTION OF THE KINGDOM OF SPAIN”

Español: Mariano Rajoy en Valladolid (España) ...

DONDE DIJE DIGO DIGO DIEGO …

It is incredible how bad news can seem good news depending on how you manipulate them.

So yesterday it was decided by the Eurogroup that Spain would receive an aid for its banking system. About 2000 or 3000 euros per Spanish capita say my estimates!

So, I must be very happy! Europe gives me a credit of about 3000 euros! And the only condition is that I have to return it! So, should I buy champagne for celebrations? Besides the interest to pay will be small. So maybe about 100 euros? Is that not wonderful ……?

BUT wait a minute …….

Did I wanted in first place to have a credit of 3000 euros?

This is what is crazy! Now it is as if Spaniard had asked for a credit of 3000 euros and that is supposed to be good news because it is without conditions. Is this good news?

This is all a lie. There must be conditions. If there were not conditions this would mean that the Germans are fools. I just imagine that Germany already knows that in fact we have been accepting their conditions for months!

So, you see. Until now some Spanish people had an enormous debt and people did not trust that. Now they won’t have this enormous debt because ALL SPAIN WILL HAVE THE DEBT!

It is incredible how chidish I feel when I listen to Spanish politicians. They are selling a terrble news as if it was a very wonderful news. They say: IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. WE COULD HAVE BEEN INTERVENED.

If we will owe so much money it is true that is better not to be intervened?

As far as I know a no intervention means we have more freedom. But freedom for what? If we spend more than if intervened this means that we will have more problems to pay back!

The fairy tales goes as follows: you put the money in Spanish banks. So, BY MAGIC, in some years this banks RETURN ALL THE MONEY BACK! WOW! REALLY?

Mariano Rajoy has said that this banks will pay the interests of the bailout. Ach so … I imagine that then you just need that they need more money. Then Europe gives us money but this time with conditions!

In some way, I must accept that this bailout is good in the sense that is better than an intervention but it is good for now but maybe not so good in the long run. Because this bailout means we are ill. Europe does not send us to hospital but maybe it would be better to be at hospital even if nobody likes that!

So, who knows, this bailout lite could be the first part of a total bailout to come next …

The sad thing is that even president Mariano Rajoy are showing victory in what in reality is not a victory. It is at most an standstill. It will be a victory if we finally succeed.
