SHOULD I BOYCOTT TWINNINGS AND BARCLAYS IN SPAIN??

English: David Cameron's picture on the 10 Dow...

SHOULD DAVID CAMERON BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE EUROZONE IF THE UK CLOSES ITS BORDERS?

In Catalonia and Spain one can see branches of Barclays. Until now I had just feel ashamed when I was passing next to a Bankia branch but now I do not feel very comfortable either when I pass next to a Barclays branch after the Barclays scandal in the UK, the home of Barclays.

On the other hand I love the tea of TWINNINGS.

I cannot actively boycott BARCLAYS as I do not have an account at BARCLAYS. But I can boycott TWINNINGS as I use to by teas of this wonderful brand.

I even could support the Elgin marbles returning to Greece.

As you may have realised all the things I say are related to the UK and all mean  to act in an unfriendly way in someway..

Why should  I be unfriendly when I in general like the UK?

Well, I just read that the UK may close its borders to some eurozone citizens if the eurozone crisis goes worse.

Well, I understand that the UK government must care about what to do in a hypothetical break down of the eurozone but I think that it is very understandable too that if THE.CAT cannot go to, for example, London, I won’t be happy about the British coming to the places where they reject people going to there land.

If people from the south of Europe could not enter the UK it is childish to imagine that people from the south of Europe would welcome UK tourists in their beaches.

If the UK closes its borders to southern Europe then the south of Europe should close borders to the UK.

I say all this because I have the feeling that some British politicians seem not to realise that by talking about closing borders they are not protecting UK interests but just isolating the UK.

I have never supported in a serious way the return of the Elgin marbles to Greece but if I cannot go to London to see them it is obvious I prefer them to be in Greece.

I love Twinnings but if I cannot go to The Strand shop to buy if when I go to London then I prefer not to buy them.

If I cannot go to London then each day I see a Barclays branch I would feel quite weird that a UK bank can have a branch in my city but I cannot go the place of the branch.

If I cannot go to London I will write to Catalan tv channels and tv radios and will ask them to stop broadcasting British series or music.

Needless to say that if the UK closes its borders and I have to boycott British products I will be quite sad ans disappointed as I like British products in general but as I admire the British I like to do like them so that if the close whatever I will try to close whatever too. Quite a sad thing to do but it is not me who has started all this but David Cameron.

This is so the answer to David Cameron possible closing of borders. A total closing of borders to British tourists in southern Europe. If we cannot go to Britain not a single British citizen should be allowed to step into a souther eurozone beach.

IN ANY CASE IF GREEKS CANNOT GO TO LONDON THEN THE ELGIN MARBLES SHOULD IMMEDIATELY LEAVE LONDON BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE MADE: GREECE.

SYRIA COULD CAUSE A BOYCOTT OF OLYMPIC GAMES IN LONDON?

I just have read that the UK has blocked a Syria’s Olympic chief. This rapidly has made me think that Syria may boycott the games as reprisal. China and Russia won’t follow as that would put them to close to the the Assad Regime atrocities. But who knows, maybe Iran could join the boycott.

Let’s see what happens. In any case I hope the the transport in London works properly in London for the Olympic Games. Today there is a bus strike as bus drives want a 500 pound bonus for the Olympics.

I just hope that this Olympic Games are not the last ones with euros in the eurozone let alone the last ones!

In any case I wish the Olympic Games are succesfull. I love London and I wish the best for this wonderful town.

OLYMPIC GAMES BOYCOTT

As the Olympic Games in London 2012 are aproaching it is sure that somewhere in the planet we will hear about a boycott for the Olympic Games. I am sure that a lot of different reasons could be found in different places to boycott the games. I would like to say that I won’t boycott the games but as you never know what may happen the weeks before the games I cannot be sure what I will do. But I know one thing for certain. When I write this post I don’t see any reason why I should boycott the Olympic Games in London.

It is true that the Olympic games are related to Greece and that the the British Museum has the Elgin marbles from Greece but I do not think this is enough to boycott the games. Let alone when is thanks to the British Museum that I fell in love with Greek glorious past when I saw those incredible marbles. One reason why I may feel obliged to boycott the games has connection with the euro. If the euro collapses and the UK closes its doors to Greek people and other people from the eurozone I may feel that a boycott could be done.

But the things should go terrible wrong for me to boycott the Olympic Games in London because London is one of my favourites cities! I am very happy that the Olympic Games take place  in London. In fact it is wonderful that they take place near the eurozone so that you can go there and at the same time no eurozone country has to pay for the game (and neither win any revenues …) So, for now I don’t think I should boycott the Olympic Games in London. Just the opposite! I have been watching websites related to the games and the British people are been very British in the way they are acting! They even have a webpage so that you know in advance how to move through London during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

So, for now I wish the best for Stratford! It looks gorgeous in Google Maps!

HERE I EXPLAIN YOU THE MEANING OF III REPÚBLICA

Puerta del Sol (square) in Madrid (Spain).

PUERTA DEL SOL, MADRID

Hello!

Now, in Twitter one of the Worldwide TT is III República and in this post I want to explain in English what’s all about this of “III REPÚBLICA”.

Let me start from the beginning.

Since Sunday there have been protests in Spain. One of the main protests has been the one in the center of Madrid. In PUERTA DEL SOL. A lot of people there are young people. All began asking for a DEMOCRACIA REAL YA! which means REAL DEMOCRACY NOW! As you can imagine in a country with 40% of the youth jobless it is not so strange that some kind of protest has taken place here.

This protest has been a bif surprise and the media here have talked a lot about this protest. In some way Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt, could come to mind just watching Puerta dle Sol full of people.

The political parties in Spain have been taking by surprise and most media have just tell its readers what is happening.

There is one newspaper that it is called La Razón which it is related to the right in Spain. This Friday on its main page it wrote BOICOT A LA DEMOCRACIA. In smaller words it wrote III REPÚBLICA. With this frontpage it seemed that the newspaper wanted to say that the protest was a boycott to democracy (the protest has been banned for Saturday and Sunday and a possible defiance I imagine it is the cause why La Razón used the word boycoot) he newspaper also says III República as meaning that the protesters are heading for a 3RD REPUBLIC.

If you read tweets with “III REPÚBLICA” you will see that the tweets refer to La Razón frontpage.

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TWEETS ABOUT III REPÚBLICA?

Well, there can be different reasons. Some people are angry with LA RAZÓN because they feel that LA RAZÓN is trying to associate a non political protest to people who are fighting for a III REPÚBLICA. The funny thing is that we are talking about III REPÚBLICA not because the protesters are asking for a III REPÚBLICA but because LA RAZÓN newspapers just used these words.

For people who do not know Spanish politics maybe they do not understand all this fuzz about III REPÚBLICA. The reason why so many tweets talk about this is bacause by mentioning III REPÚBLICA one has the feeling as if the extreme right has tried to bring back the gohst of the civil war in Spain. Because in Spain we had a II REPÚBLICA who only lasted 5 years and ended with a CIVIL WAR.

So, when in Spain a newspaper from the right mentions III REPÚBLICA people remember the past.

So, now the world is seeing a TT that has nothing to do with the #spanishrevolution protesters with with the reaction from the extreme right in Spain.

So, you see, in Spain we are not heading for any III republic. We are just unhappy that an extreme right newspaper tries to manipulate the indignation of the Spanish youth and not so youth in Puerta del Sol square.

If I was from the extreme right I would immediately open an account on Twitter and try to act as if I was a protester and I would write again and again III REPÚBLICA.

So you see in Libya Gaddafi tried to link protesters to Al-Qaeda and in Madrid a newspapers tries to associate unhappy youth with a III REPUBLIC. Just to put fear on Spanish society of a CIVIL WAR. That wa sthe goal of La Razón. That was the goal of III REPÚBLICA.

BOICOT A LA DEMOCRACIA. A POR LA III REPÚBLICA

There is a newspaper from Madrid called La Razón that I have never bought in my life but that maybe I buy this Friday because in the front page says BOICOT A LA DEMOCRACIA. A POR LA III REPÚBLICA.

You do not see such a frontpage in Spain each day. It is a very strong massage. Let me translate it: BOYCOTT TO DEMOCRACY. TO THE 3RD REPUBLIC.

This newspaper does not like the protests in the squares of Spain and it associates them to the left.

The mention of “III REPÚBLICA” is a very strong statement because in Spain everybody knows that the second republic ended in a civil war so when La Razón mentions this in some way it is telling everybody that we are heading to disaster.

In my opinion the reasons behind the protests in Spain have to be found in the fact that 40& of youth are jobless and that we are inside an economic crisis and we know that in the near future we won’t have growth but just cuts and cuts.

This Saturday and Sunday protesters want to continue their protest but the protest has been banned by the JEC or Junta Electoral Central. On Sunday there are elections. I imagine that is the reason why La Razón writes BOICOT A LA DEMOCRACIA.

It is years since we had such a tense time in Spain. I think people in Spain are nervous. We may be the next country to bailout.

Let’s hope that all ends well.
