“THE.CAT > 550 CATS” or something similar is what Google search may show to people searching for information about a man that has divorced his wife because she has adopted 550 cats.

As you can imagine, having a blog that can be reached by just typing THE.CAT I could not miss the opportunity of writing about the 550 cats because, experience tells me that when people find such a weird search result as a website called THE.CAT writing about a weird news of 550 cats in a house, well people tend to click to that weird result.

Unfortunately the only connection between the news of the divorce and the 550 cats and THE.CAT is that THE.CAT lives in west side of the Mediterranean and the 550 cats live on the east side of the Mediterranean.

By the way, I wonder if the 550 cats have names or there are favourite ones who have a name while most do not have a name. And who says a name, could also say an email …

Maybe THE.CAT could help the woman with the 550 cats by offering her 550 @the.cat emails for the 550 cats. I wonder if I could name 550 different names for cats but in any case one could choose also names of cities, etc to reach the quantity of 550 cats.

I also wonder if the lady has a website and you can see photos of the 550 cats. THE.CAT could also offer 550 different subdomains for the 550 cats …

….

Something quite weird has happened after I wrote this post. I made a search in Google by writing 550 and the name of this blog to see if this post was in Google search. And I found an old post of mine that said “Israel has released 550 Palestinian prisoners …”.

We,, thank you for reading this weird post. Now you always can say in the future that one of the weirdest things that happened to you was reading in a website called the.cat about a  news about a divorce related to 550 cats in a house …

The day of Gilad Shalit

Today is the day of Gilad Shalit. Media of all the world are writing about his release.

It seems that Egypt was been essential in reaching a deal between Hamas and Israel. So it seems that changes in Egypt are not so bad for Israel as it look some weeks ago when the fire went inside the embassy of Israel in Cairo.

For me it is quite difficult to understand the sap that has taken place. The release of people with blood in their hands seems to me very strange but if Israel has decided so let it be.

Who knows, maybe with the Arab Spring we will have peace at last in that part of the world, just on the other site of the sea that I write next to.

I am happy with the release of this free young man. I am not happy with the release of the ones with blood in their hands. Although I accept of course the decision of Israel to do so.

Maybe people from Hamas they think this is a victory for them. For me it is a victory for Israel because by releasing terrorists with blood in their hands it shows love for their own and forgiveness to the murderers. Only a great nation would do that.

Well, as this post may look too pro Israel let me just say that I support the move of Mahmoud Abbas at the UN in recognition of a Palestine state.

SEPTEMBER 23TH 2011 OR THE END OF THE US GLOBAL SUPREMACY

THE FLAG OF ISRAEL

I have the sense that September 23th 2011 will be remember in schools as the day when the United States of America ended its global supremacy of the last decades. This Friday will remembered as the day where the US showed that the world was not just ruled by its rules and that the US was no longer a reference of justice around the world.

I think that it is a very very big mistake that the US vetoes tomorrow the existence of the Palestine state.

Barack Obama is right when he says that negotiations are the key to solve the problem and that the declaration of the Palestinian state won’t change the thing as by a miracle. In this reasoning one could argue that if the declaration of a Palestinian state is not going to change thing on the ground then there should not be too much trouble to recognise the Palestinian state: it should not change much by the same reasoning!

The US has lost its credibility.

And the one who is writing this is someone who, in contrast with most people in this part of Europe, is not a blind supporter of the Palestinian cause. In fact I feel that I must be one of the people in Catalonia that is more sympathetic with Israel. I have not problem to say that I have admired always the democracy of Israel and I always have thought that I would feel much more comfortable living in Israel that in most Arab countries.

According to the US a declaration of the state of Palestine would bring frustration and violence. If that’s one reason not to declare it then one should take into account that the veto of the US could  also cause frustration and violence.

I think that the wise think is to support the declaration of the state of Palestine as the UN supported the declaration of the state of Israel. Once that is done any attack against Israel will have the rejection of the international community too.

A lot of Arab youngs have dies these last months for freedom and democracy. By vetoing the declaration of a new Arab state the US will pass to history as a country that talked a lot about democracy and freedom but that at the end had another agende. And that is the end of the US as a respectable nation of the world.

By the way, has not anyone realise in the US administration that by supporting the Palestinian state on Friday they would be supporting the Arab world who recognises THE EXISTENCE OF ISRAEL WITH THE 1967 BORDERS?

MAHMOUD ABBASS BY ASKING A RECOGNITION OF A PALESTINIAN STATE WITH THE 1967 BORDERS IS RECOGNISING ISRAEL! ONLY A FOOLINESS ACT WITHOUT COMMON SENSE WOULD VETO THIS DECLARATION OF A NEW STATE THAT RECOGNISES THE STATE OF ISRAEL (IN CONTRAST WITH HAMAS, FOR EXAMPLE). THIS IS A PEACEFUL STEP!  HISTORY WILL TELL IF I WAS RIGHT OR WRONG.

Let me end to show my love for Israel by saying that if I had to choose between being a Palestinian citizen or a a citizen of Israel I would prefer Israel because I feel I have more things in common. But I want Israel to be fair and Israel cannot be a fair state if we do not have TOO a Palestinian state!!!! I am sorry that the US goverment is going to make this big mistake of the veto. FORTUNATELY THE US IS MUCH MORE THAN ITS GOVERNMENT. SO i WILL BE JUST DISSAPOINTED WITH ITS GOVERNMENT.
