MARIANO RAJOY AND ANGELA MERKEL SHOULD SPEAK IN A COMMON LANGUAGE

Mariano Rajoy, Nicolas Sarkozy y Angela Merkel

GERMAN? SPANISH? FRENCH? MAYBE WE COULD JUST SPEAK ENGLISH ...

I have read that some hours ago Angela Merkel congratulated Mariano Rajoy for his victoy in Spanish elections this Sunday.

One of the big problems of Mariano Rajoy will be to create jobs. One of the good things to get a job sometimes is to have a good knowledge of a foreign language. Strange as it may seem you can become president or prime minister (or chancellor) or any European country without the need to speak a foreign language fluently! We hear a lot about Europe and Mehr Europa and so on but how on earth do you want to create a united Europe when its top politicians need translators to understand each other? That’s crazy. I think that people should be proud of their languages but it is obvious that if we want really a United Europe we need a common language! When I went to Germany I remember I learnt a bit of German. But before I could speak German I just spoke English so that I could understand people in Germany who could also talk to me in English! Thanks to English I was able to tal with Germans. Afterwards, I tried the German language!

So it is time that we have a common language! IT IS NECESSARY THAT AT ANY TIME ANGELA MERKEL CAN CALL SPAIN, CAN CALL ITALY, CAN CALL GREECE OR VICEVERSA WITHOUT THE NEED OF A TRANSLATOR!

ENGLISH SHOULD BECOME THE COMMON LANGUAGE OF EUROPE!

People may say that with that other languages will lose. I do not think so! Thanks to the use of English people would move from country to country. And they could work at any place of the European Union. And once there, if they wanted to continue there they would learn also the language of the country!

Who knows, maybe if English was the official language of the European Union maybe the UK would feel better inside the EU and, who knows, may also want to join the euro … And once the UK said so I think that the eurocrisis would be diminished. A Europe with the UK and Germany united would be invincible.

  1. What you say have no logic, every country should keep their own languages and if they need to make comunication with other country they should use tecnology and translators, english shouldn’t be in any case the common language of europe

    cheers!

Wow! What a terrible article. There should not be any official language. But if Europe should have an official language it should of course be German for being the most widely spoken first language in the European Union (around 100 million), official language in 6 European countries, and spoken as a second language by a big percentage of the population in many other countries.

Also wirklich, wenn du nur eine Sprache für Europa willst, dann musst du schnell Deutsch lernen😉
